[Trans] 100202 TVXQ Chosen By Viewers Of American Talk Show 'Ellen Degeneres Show' As A Rising Star

TVXQ has been chosen by viewers of a famous American talk show as 'the foreign artiste who should be introduced to Ellen'.

In the 'Send Ellen Your International Music Suggestions!' event that began on NBC's 'Ellen Degeners Show' homepage in January, TVXQ received over 20,000 suggestions and was recorded as the artiste most suggested by netizens. This was achieved by a collaborative effort of fans in Korea as well as in Asia.

Many of the suggestions included the popularity of TVXQ/Tohoshinki in Japan and in Asia in general. This seems to be the work of fans across Asia coming together for a common cause.

With TVXQ being chosen as the singer with the most suggestions, many wonder if TVXQ will appear on the 'Ellen Degeneres Show'. The 'Ellen Degeneres Show' is a representative talk show in America alongside 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' and is popular with around 10 million households tuning in. Even just appearing on the show will be a strong foundation for an entry into the American music market for TVXQ. The Ellen Degeneres Show homepage did state that the singer with the most suggestions may be asked to appear on the show.

Regarding this, TVXQ's agency SM Entertainment stated, "We did hear about this but we have not yet received an official invitation." He also continued to say, "Currently, TVXQ is split between U-Know Yunho-Choikang Changmin, and Xiah Junsu-YoungWoong Jaejoong-Micky Yoochun. At the current situation, it would not be easy for the five members to appear on the show together." Currently, TVXQ is performing only in important events in Japan.

[NEWS] TVXQ's income REVEALED!-103109

This is just so unfair.
They don't even get the right amount of money that they deserve.

--------------------
Below is what the court has presented as the content of the members' contracts. The contract has been modified 5 times since their debut, so this is the overall review.

1. TVXQ has received $0 from their album sales till July 2008, and a very small amount after.

Before the fifth modification that the company made with their contract, it stated that the profit from albums and singles with sales less than 500,000 copies would go 100% to SM Entertainment, which left the members with nothing. There has been no Korean album that have exceeded 500,000 album sales between the time of TVXQ's debut and their 4th album Mirotic, which was the first album in Korea to sell over 500,000 albums for a long time.

On July 1 2008, the company changed the contract so each member would get 1% from album sales that exceeded 200,000 copies. For albums that are below that number, they are paid 0.6% to nothing. Through these terms, TVXQ has not earned a single cent since February 2009.

2. TVXQ has received $0 from sales of concert DVD's and albums with recordings from concerts.

The contract stated that the members are not entitled to get any profit from concert DVD's and "live" albums.

3. TVXQ received $0 from their appearances in TV programs.

In the contract, the members do not have a right to receive the shares made from appearances on television programs if they are featured in only one episode or if their appearance is temporary. SM has kept all the profit from TV shows where TVXQ were guests.

4. For other ways of getting profit, SM subtracts the total amount with all the expenses that the company has paid for them, including clothing, salary of company staff, stage preparation, rent, food expenses, and etc., which only leaves a fraction for the members of TVXQ.

As for all other sources of income, the contract says that the members do not get the full "net income", but only get a percentage of it. The contract states that the "net income" is the profit remaining after deducting their operating costs, which is the money that the company spends on them. The operating costs include expenses that are to be covered by the employer, such as salaries of the staff (manager, clothing coordinators, makeup artists, dance coordinators, back dancers, etc.), performance stages, living expenses which include water and electricity bills, travel expenses which include plane tickets, and meal expenses. The company might add something in addition to deduct more from the net income.

In conclusion, TVXQ actually received anywhere from 1% to 5% from all of their activities, which depending on how you look at it can still add up to 7 figures or more but still many consider this to be unfair.

[TRANS] TVXQ holding another concert in Shenzhen,China

TVXQ will be holding another concert in China in Shenzhen.

On the 2nd, TVXQ held a concert in the Shanghai, Hongkou Football Stadium for 40,000 fans. On this day, the members of TVXQ shed tears when the fans held up placards that said "I Believe" in Korean.

TVXQ are planning to recreate this emotional scene with their concert called 'TVXQ 3rd Asia Tour-MIROTIC in Shenzhen' at the Shenzhen Gymnasium on November 21st.

The tickets which fans will be able to pre-order until the 14th range in price from the cheapest Standing ticket of 280 Yuan to that of the most expensive ticket at 980 Yuan. But Chinese fans have not been deterred and a flood of pre-orders have already taken place.

On the other hand, a very recent picture of member Changmin who seemed underweight has caused fans to voice the opinion that, "The members are having to adhere to a too rigorous schedule." The fans said, "We are worried about the members' health as they are performing this concerts without resting in between."

[TRANS] 091005 'SM Dispute' TVXQ Will Continue Their China Concerts in November

Group TVXQ, who are currently locked in a dispute with their agency, will be holding another concert in China this coming November.

TVXQ, who opened a concert in Shanghai, China on the 2nd, will be holding another concert dubbed 'TVXQ 3rd Asia Tour-MIROTIC in Shenzhen' in the Shenzhen Stadium on November 21st. Pre-ordering has started on the 5th on the ticketing site http://live.damai.cn/sz/ticket_12870.html.

The problem is whether or not the event will be accomplished. This is because TVXQ's YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu have been in a dispute with their agency SM Entertainment over their exclusive contract since July 31st. They are currently awaiting the verdict that has yet to come.

Even if the Courts make a decision in favor of the three members and the exclusive contract is suspended, all five members will probably perform in the Shenzhen concert. This is because both sides have stated that, "TVXQ will carry on with all scheduled performances so as to keep their promise with their fans." In fact, other than the 'SM Town Live 09' concert that was scheduled for August 16th, TVXQ has performed every single official overseas activity that they had planned. This was to lessen the shock the fans would have felt.

On the 5th, a SME representative stated, "TVXQ will perform all their scheduled activities as long as there are no mishaps that occur."

On the other hand, TVXQ met 40,000 Chinese fans at the Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium on the 2nd and held a large-scale concert. The fans held placards that said "I Believe" in Korean (믿어요), and the members were very touched by this gesture.

[TRANS] 'SM Dispute' TVXQ, On The Brink Of An Oricon Record

Will TVXQ be able to rewrite the history of the Oricon Charts again?

Group TVXQ, who has already set the record as the foreign artiste with the most 1st places on the Oricon daily chart, are on the brink of becoming the foreign artiste with the most weekly wins as well.

According to Oricon Style on the 5th, the project duet single that YoungWoong Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun released on the 30th of September named 'COLORS ~Melody and Harmony~' was number 1 on the daily Oricon charts for five days straight until October 4th. This makes them a very likely candidate for the number one spot on the weekly Oricon Chart this week.

If TVXQ becomes number one on the Weekly Oricon Chart, the group would be setting a record with a total of seven weekly first. TVXQ's 27th single 'Share the World/We Are' that was released on April cemented them as the foreign artiste with the most weekly wins on the Oricon Chart when it reached number one on the weekly charts.

Starting from TVXQ's 'Purple Line' released on January of 2008, TVXQ has been number 1 for the Weekly Charts with 'Beautiful You/Thousand year love Song', 'Doumini coopere...', 'Spell-MIROTIC', 'Bolero/Kiss the baby Sky' and 'Share the World.'

The two members' fortune had been predicted beforehand. They were first place as the most expected single on the 25th on the Oricon Charts.

[TRANS] 090901 TVXQ "Wishes For All 5 Members To Attend The End-of-year Music Programmes"

This is just soooo nice to hear.^_^
Hwaiting TVXQ!
--------------------
The male group TVXQ has no intention to disband despite the fact that some of their members are in a dispute with their management company. This was reported in the Japanese paper Goodday Sports on the 31st August, when they had an interview with TVXQ after their participation in the "a-nation" concert in Osaka.

During the interview, the leader U-know Yunho expressed his wish that "all 5 members can attend the end of the year music programmes", and there were no signs of any intention to disband. The report said that "TVXQ promised to return with all 5 members, and Xiah Junsu said 'Following this all 5 members will continue to do activities together, and we want to grow with our fans'; and rejected the rumours of disbandment.

Hero Jaejoong, expressed through the interview that he wished to "quickly participate in next year's a-nation and wanted to show everyone the image of all 5 members on stage having the best time", and Micky Yoochun said that "in future, we wish to perform more songs for everyone". These statements were noticed in particular as both members are involved in the dispute with the company.

Although they are currently in a dispute with their company, TVXQ's Japanese activities are still being continued. They participated in the a-nation concerts that were organised by their Japanese management company. Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun will be releasing a new single on the 30th of this month, as the duet 'JEJUNG & YUCHUN". Besides this, TVXQ returned to Korea on the morning of 31st August, and they have no schedules planned in the near future. However, their concert in Shanghai, China, to be held on 2nd October, will carry on as promised previously.

[TRANS] 090831 SME "Regarding The Evidence That Was To Be Submitted, We Were Only Waiting For Answer From The Courts"

SM Entertainment, the agency that is currently in a dispute with three members of TVXQ, Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and YoungWoong Jaejoong, released a statement on the 31st regarding the agency's decision not to submit any documents for the trial stating that, "We were only waiting for an answer from the Courts."

As soon as the Preservation of Evidence request was accepted, SM Entertainment told the Courts that, "The range of documents requested is too broad and the time to gather them too short," and also requested to the Courts that, "If the Courts narrow the range down to one section or part, we will submit those documents."

A representative of SME stated that, "The reason we haven't submitted any documents relevant to the case yet is because we did not receive an answer from the Courts saying what particular kind of documents we should submit. It is not because we fear that company secrets may be revealed."

The Courts will be receiving documents relevant to this case until they reach a decision next month.

[NEWS] Fans File Petition for TVXQ @ National Human Rights Commission

More than 120,000 fans of the K-pop idol group TVXQ, which is embroiled in legal battle against its agency, filed a collective petition with the human rights agency on Friday, judging a working contract made between three members of the group and their agency to be “unfair” and “inhumane.”

Three representatives of the fans visited the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Seoul and submitted the petition and a bulky package of papers with their signatures of support.

They said in a statement, “The contract banning TVXQ members from changing their agency for 13 years since their debut is the same as a life-long working contract, which is extremely disadvantageous to the singers.”

They claimed the period is far longer than that of other agencies. “Singers have the right to change their agency to one offering better conditions. Under the contract, however, they have no choice but to work with the present agency virtually until they retire. This is an infringement of human rights,” the statement said.

A NHRC spokesman told The Korea Times, “It will take at least three months to the complete investigation of the case.”

The controversy over the five-member group’s working contract touched off early this month after three of its members ― Micky, Xiah and Hero ― asked the Seoul Administrative Court to terminate the validity of their contract with their agency, SM Entertainment. The other two members, Max and U-Know, did not take part in the action.

According to the legal document filed, the agency prohibited their freedom as artists by claiming that the group’s and members’ activities belonged to the agency, requiring them to follow the agency’s demands to appear at certain performances and broadcasts, and to stay under the agency’s wing for 13 years.

Reports of dissension started circulating about a month ago.

The three members were said to have conflicting interests with SM regarding their private business endeavors in the makeup industry. Max and U-Know, meanwhile, had been busy pursuing individual acting careers in TV soaps in addition to their work with the group.

This raised concern among fans about the group’s potential breakup. Despite the rumor of internal conflicts, the five singers appeared all together, as planned, at a concern in Japan early this month.

SM said, “TVXQ is a group that represents Asia and we believe that their career should continue. We hope to figure things out soon.”

TVXQ debuted in 2004 with the album “Hug” and shot to stardom in Korea, Japan and other parts of Asia. Their subsequent albums were well received and their fourth album, “Mirotic,” released last year, sold 500,000 copies here despite sluggishness in the Korean record market.
