Jung Yunho, Go Ara, Lee Sangyoon, Lee Yoonji and all staff members of MBC's drama "Heading to the Ground" kept fighting until the end of the drama, and held a farewell party. "Heading to the Ground" has been tagged as a good sports-related drama series which is also fresh and warm. On the afternoon of the 5th of November, all crew members and actors held a farewell party and everyone said, “We did not worry much about the ratings; instead, we were happy during the whole filming period.” They watched the last episode together, with bittersweet feelings.

Jung Yunho (Cha Bonggun), Go Ara (Kang Haebin), Lee Sangyoon (Jang Seungwoo) and Lee Yoonji (Oh Yeonyi) took a photo with everyone, and at the same time, expressed their gratitude.

Yunho laughed and said, “That would probably be the most autographs I have signed, after my last screenshot.” While signing, he also gave everyone a CD as a gift of gratitude, which resulted in him being labeled as ‘The Gentleman Yunho.’

At the same time, Go Ara went around, showing her gratitude by giving everyone, who had treated her as family throughout the filming period, a hug and she cried uncontrollably because she could not bear to part with them. Yunho wiped Ara’s tears away and promised, “Each one of us will meet again in a better drama.”

Like the Cha Bonggun who went through all obstacles in life, the whole crew of "Heading to the Ground" did their very best from the start until the very last second, creating a warm and happy atmosphere.

[Trans] 091105 U-Know Yunho's Rediscovery through 'HTTG' - 'His Passion For Challenges Shone Through'

U-know Yunho....HWAITING!!!! ^____^

-----------------------------------

Nowadays, the critiquing of dramas takes its basis from ratings.
When the rating are high, a drama is seen as successful and good, while low ratings make a drama, as well as the actors, a failure. This is why the deciding factor of most of the media's critiques of a successful actor and a failed actor depend on whether that actor was in a drama with high or low ratings.

U-Know Yunho of MBC's 'Heading to the Ground', which ended on the 4th on a gloomy note with 16 episodes, received such appraisal as well. But U-Know Yunho was different. U-Know Yunho, who temporarily left his title as leader of idol group TVXQ that swept all of Asia of its feet to try his hand at acting, grew as an excellent actor despite the fact that his drama received low ratings. Instead of drawing the limit from failure, he worked harder to improve his acting skills.

U-Know Yunho was rediscovered through 'Heading to the Ground'. During the drama, he showed the viewers who actor Jung Yunho, not singer TVXQ's U-Know Yunho, was. According to those involved with the drama, U-Know Yunho matured and grew rapidly as an actor in 'Heading to the Ground' from episode 1 to 16. The insufficiency of episodes 1 and 2 were filled by episode 3 and 4 and he began to show a more mature acting through episodes 5 and 6 and began drawing the viewers' attention.

The decision to partake in 'Heading to the Gorund' in itself was a great challenge to Jung Yunho. In the case of most rookie actors, they choose characters that will continue and better their popularity and image such as flower boys, business tycoons, charismatic guys, bad boys, or geniuses. But U-Know Yunho broke out of his image as an idol on stage and showed a quite different side of himself. He wanted to be reborn as an actor. To overcome the handicap of it being an idol star's first acting attempt, he went head on with situations in the drama without the use of a stunt double and won.

His character Cha Bong Goon was more memorable because he was not a cool character, but one who seemed to be lacking in some way. He showed everything from bizarre facial expressions to comical dancing. Although the charisma of TVXQ he had built up since his debut had disappeared, he was able to show everyone the birth of Actor Jung Yunho.

TVXQ's U-Know Yunho, who now has five years of a singing career under his belt, has evolved into a talented singer but has just begun to mature as Actor Jung Yunho. His youth and passion for challenges are beautiful, there are hopes to see what else Actor Jung Yunho has to offer in dramas and in movies.

[News] Yunho's heading to the ground cut short

Heading to the ground
, a drama which stars popular TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki leader Yunho and actress Go Ara, will be finishing earlier than planned.

Originally, the drama was slated to have 20 episodes but there will be no happy ending. Due to very poor ratings, it's been decided that the 16th episode, which will air on November 4th, will be the final episode. The final episode has been re-cut / re-edited so that the show can tie up the storyline and have an early ending. MBC hopes that their new drama that's going to replace HTTG, Hero, starring Lee Jun Ki will resurrect their ratings.

This is quite unfortunate for Yunho, but I'm sure he'll use this as a learning tool for any future acting endeavours.

[Trans] 090915 "Heading to the Ground" Actor Park Chul-min's Interview

Well-known supporting actor, Park Chul-min became a valuable acting coach for TVXQ member, Jung Yunho, in his recent acting debut.

In the drama "Heading to the Ground" that airs every Wednesdays and Thursdays, Park Chul-min plays the role of a rather eccentric president of a sports agency, named Hong Sang-man, who has an eye for spotting diamonds in the rough. In the drama, he, along with Hae-bin (Go Ara) is working hard to get Cha Bong-goon (Jung Yunho) into the the pro-soccer leagues.

Park Chul-min revealed after seeing Jung Yunho on the acting scene, "The only thing I had known about him was that he is a member of TVXQ, but not really anything more. But because of his bright, healthy smile and the passion he put into everything he did, he made quite the first impression."

The thing that Park Chul-min focuses most of his advice on is the fine details of the acting. If it is pointed out to him that a particular part of his performance seemed awkward or unnatural, Yunho will make a note of it, have photos taken of his acting with his manager's camera, and will go through it all afterward. We can see that Yunho is currently displaying tremendous enthusiasm towards the project, as well as his acting.

Park Chul-min, stating that Yunho "has potential" and that he will "try to find a way to ensure the success of me and my good junior actor in the future," wished Yunho "Fighting!"

[TRANS] 090903 'Heading to the Ground' Official Interview

Jung Yunho "TVXQ members sent a text message saying, 'If you don't do well, you'll get in big trouble.'"

The 21st century's idol star is not just a star who only sings and dances on stage. Whether or not it be the fans' wish, they have the tendency to want to do more which crosses the boundary between the stage and the rest of the world. During this period, there have been many cases where they succeed to have another career, such as being actors. TVXQ, who has the world's largest fan club consisting of over 800,000 official members worldwide, is no exception. As a start, in 2006, they filmed the movie [Vacation]. As of now, Hero Jaejoong has already finished filming the tele-cinema [Heaven's Postman] and Max Changmin has been casted as the main in a drama [ Paradise Meadow]. Finally on September 9th, the first episode of the MBC drama [Heading to the Ground] is set to air where TVXQ's leader, U-know Yunho, will make his official debut as an actor. We were able to meet actor Jung Yunho at the [Heading to the Ground] press conference on September 2nd. We will release the official interview where most of the questions were centered around him, which proved the extent of his popularity.

What will happen to TVXQ?
Jung Yunho: Honestly speaking, I can't say anything as of now, but more than anything, I wish that everything will be resolved well and rationally.

Honestly, isn't it difficult for it to be solved successfully?
Jung Yunho: I don't understand why people continue to think negatively. (laugh) In fact, there has been a lot of ugly rumors recently. So even if the problem can be solved well, there are times when I also think negatively because of the rumors. I hope no one would believe in those.

"TVXQ members support me a lot"

Did the members give any words of support or advice regarding your drama appearance?
Jung Yunho: When shooting a drama, many of the filming takes place all night long, so we often share stories through texting. "Yah, If you don't do well, you'll get in big trouble." They send these types of messages. Also, since I would see all the members at home, they would ask, "Did you do well today? How was it?" When I answered by saying, "Since it was my first time I was very nervous, but I'm working really hard so watch over me with a positive view," they would reply "Okay, we will." These are some things, but they often support me by saying that they wish the drama will become a success.

Thoughts on filming your first drama?
Jung Yunho: I lived as a singer for five years, but it's my first time acting. It's new and fun. I feel as though I'm growing together with the drama. I also feel that working on one project with the director and writer itself is a life study.

It is known that there have been many dramas in which you had the choice to choose from. What would be a reason why you chose ?
Jung Yunho: I also found out from a news article about the rumored liaison for the drama. Truthfully, when I saw the article, I said, "Uh, I'm doing this drama?" (laugh) The members' individual solo activities were matters determined last year to be after the Tokyo Dome concert. During vacation, I happened to see the script [Heading to the Ground] and I thought, "Even though I lack experience, I really want to do this." I was at first attracted to the title, then when I read the synopsis, I really had the heart to do it. We're filming right now and honestly there are a lot of parts where I'm insufficient. However, I'm putting a lot of effort to show a better performance, so I hope people will watch over me with a positive view .

"Because of the love for soccer, we do shoot-outs during filming"

In [Heading to the Ground], Jung Yunho got out of his idol image by exposing his upper body as well as having a kiss scene.

What were your thoughts when meeting Director Park Sung Soo?
Jung Yunho: He was more of a neighbor hyung than a director. He gave the impression of an older cousin. We were similar in that we didn't give up even after experiencing several life-threatening situations. I have several scars on my face and body. I received a lot of severe injuries during my lifetime. Also before debut when I came up to Seoul from Gwang-ju, while doing part-time jobs alone, there were times when I had to sleep outside. Since all the hard times went by, from now on, I hope there will only be good times.

The kiss scene between Lee Yoon Ji, who plays the character Yeoni, has been revealed; what are your thoughts about the scene?
Jung Yunho: The scene was of a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, not a kiss scene. Oh, the viewers will misunderstand. (laugh) More than anything, honestly, the day before the shooting I was very nervous before going to sleep. There has never been a time when my lip touched someone else's whether it be during drama or variety programs. I even thought about what would happen if I were to freeze. But when we started filming, Yoon Ji noona did it comfortably like a real friend so we were able to finish it quickly.

You appear as a soccer player in the drama, did you always have a lot of interest in sports?
Jung Yunho: I normally really like soccer. Since the director also likes soccer, we do shoot-outs even during filming, but we haven't decided the result for the game yet. In the drama, I have to portray a character who's a professional soccer player, not just a person who enjoys playing soccer, so I would often be worried on whether I would be able to do it. But when I saw the revealed clip today, I think I hit it better than I thought I would, so I'm satisfied. (laugh)

In the released video clips, there are a lot of scenes where you're exposing the upper body. Do you plan on showing more masculine appearances in the drama?
Jung Yunho: First, I was pretty shocked myself, because even though I wasn't ready, there were a few scenes where I had to take off my clothes. (laugh) If I had known, I would've shown a better performance.

"Cha Bong Goon is a highly motivated kid who believes in his instinct."

It is known that you haven't had a lot of time to prepare for your character. When do you feel that your own acting skills are insufficient?
Jung Yunho: I feel that way especially whenever we film scenes that I haven't experienced before. There was a scene where I had to have handcuffs on, but I didn't know what emotions I had to put on in this situation since I've never been caught while doing something bad. It's also something that can't be done with only imagination. In a way, the role of Cha Bong Goon can be seen as a cute kid, or as a charismatic kid, and a highly motivated kid who believes in his instinct. Ah, but he's not smart. (laugh) So in some parts, I feel that he and I are similar, so I'm trying to express it as it is. Although it's a lot less than my urge to do better in acting, but from within the limit, I want to show Cha Bong Goon's will to do better in soccer, my will to do better in acting. But above that, I think it's most important to deliver the heart that is able to enjoy.

As much as you've officially started acting, the words of people's criticisms will also rise. Are you ready for this?
Jung Yunho: I think that these things are natural. It was also the same when we debuted, because there were people who criticized; I was able to grow and mature. And only in this moment I will be afflicted with the growing sickness, I believe all remarks are made out of interest and concern. Criticisms are always welcomed, and if you send a warm supporting message along with it, it'll be great. Also if those criticisms are for the sake of then I'm not worried at all.

If you had to give a score to your own acting?
Jung Yunho: Today was the better one. When I saw the teaser clips, I thought, "Ugh, what am I going to do," but when I saw today's, I think I'd give it around 50 points. (laugh) It's only the beginning, so I think it's impudent to argue back and forth regarding my acting. Teachers and seniors said that acting becomes more profound and broad-minded as you do more of it. I'm going to raise my score up slowly and orderly starting from 0.

[Trans] 090902 National Soccer Player Cho Jae-Jin's Surprise Visit To U-know Yunho

In order to show his support to turned-actor Jung Yunho, national soccer player Cho Jae-Jin paid a surprise visit to the filming location of the drama.

The new MBC production "Heading To The Ground" held their surprise activity at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on 31 August, attended by music fans and FC Seoul supporters.

Just by looking at the registration for the "Heading To The Ground" activity, you can already tell what the situation would have been like. Even though the filming time for that day was 7.30pm, the music fans gathered at the stadium 3-4 hours beforehand to wait anxiously for the production crew. Furthermore, it did not only attract fans who were 10-20 years old, even 40-50 year olds who were soccer fanatics were also attracted.

The fans who were dressed and seated according to instructions, burst out into wild cheering when they saw Yunho, who acts as Cha Bong-gun, practicing with his team members. Jung Yunho and the production staff sent their regards and thanks to the fans who were gathered in the audience.

For the sake of the fans who attended, Jung Yunho circled the stadium once, waving his hands and giving his thanks, and showed his humble attitude as a new actor, and professed his passion for the TV drama.

The filming for that day was to depict the scene where Cha Bong-gun, who had already joined FC Seoul, has his first match due to the injury of another team member. In this scene, he had to naturally portray the tension and excitement of a competition. In order to show their support, the fans who were seated in the audience specially followed the instructions of the leader for the FC Seoul fanclub, and gave the appropriate response whenever a goal was made, or when a player left or entered the field. It resulted in a magnificent scene.

Jung Yunho, who was appearing in front of the fans as a soccer player for the first time, did not leave the location even when there were no scenes for him. Instead, he did stretching or practiced his soccer moves, and did his best to show his soccer abilities.

A highlight of that day was that Yunho's close friend Cho Jae-Jin, a national soccer player, paid a surprise visit to the filming location to show his support for Jung Yunho. As they didn't make any plans before then, so not only Jung Yunho, but all the fans and staff were pleasantly surprised as well.

Cho Jae-Jin said, "I've always had a close relationship with Yunho, and when he first heard that he would be acting as a soccer player in a drama he asked me to teach him soccer; but since we were both busy, it didn't happen and I feel really apologetic about that. But I came immediately even though I just returned from a match in Japan and when I heard that he was filming today, and I also wanted to see Yunho's soccer skills." He also said, "I was never worried about Yunho who is very good in sports. It looks like he's doing well."

"Heading To The Ground" is a drama depicting the love story that develops between the talented soccer player Cha Bong-gun and the soccer agent Kang Hae Bin, who has everything but experience; their love story growing from many misunderstandings between the two. It shows the poor yet passionate Cha Bong-gun, and shows his miraculous victories in his hard life. This drama starts airing on 9 September.
